Characters in Harry Potter

Aunt Marge is introduced in Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. She is Uncle Vernon's sister, therefore Dudley's aunt but not a blood relation of Harry. Aunt Marge absolutely loves comparing Harry to Dudley and criticizing Harry.

Nearly Headless Nick (Sir Nicholas De Mimsy-Porpington) is the ghost of the Gryffindor Tower and appears in Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. The nickname Nearly Headless Nick came about when someone tried to behead him, by hitting him 45 times in the neck, but didn't quite get it right. When he died he still had a half-inch of skin and sinew attaching his head to his body, which disqualified him from joining the Headless Hunt. Nick died on Halloween, October 31, 1492.

Professor Severus Snape was James Potter's, Harry's father's arch-enemy. A black-robed, unsmiling house-master of Slytherin House, he is hated by most everyone. Professor Snape teaches Potions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Moaning Myrtle is the ghost of a very young witch who was once a student at Hogwarts. She haunts the girl's bathroom on the first floor. She died 50 years before The Chamber of Secrets.

Peeves the Poltergeist, in The Sorcerer's Stone, isn't exactly a ghost. An extremely annoying poltergeist, Peeves loves chaos; from dumping wastepaper baskets on the heads of students to pelting them with chalk.

Buckbeak is a Hippogriff, a big beast combined from a horse and a large eagle.

Madam Hooch, the Hogwarts Flying Instructor also referees all the school Quidditch matches.

As you can see, there are some very interesting characters in Harry Potter's life!
